Star Painter Show

ABOUT RANDY

As his work has become increasingly popular, Randy Watkins and his portraits have been featured on television in the U.S. and around the world. His paintings have occupied entire pages in newspapers and he has a fast growing fanbase online.

Randy was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California. He is a self taught artist who has crafted his own unique style and look of his portraits. Most of Randy's paintings are oil over acrylic on canvas, and most are 22" x 28". As a boy, Randy loved to collect the autographs from his favorite boyhood stars such asMeadowlark Lemon and Curly Neal of the Harlem Globetrotters and Martin Milner and Kent McCord of "Adam-12."

While in his teens, Randy was a big fan of music and also of album cover art. Randy's love for music and art inspired him to reproduce his favorite album covers onto canvas. He painted many album covers including the cover of the Kenny Loggins album, "High Adventure," in 1982. Ten years later, Randy was fortunate enough to get Kenny Loggins to autograph his portrait. It was at that time that Randy saw the coming-together of his two favorite hobbies, that he realized the path his hobby would lead him down.

Randy has been painting the stars and getting his portraits signed ever since. He has an ever-growing portfolio of autographed portraits of the biggest stars in Hollywood and music. He meets the stars at their movie premieres, book signings, Hollywood Walk-of-Fame ceremonies or any other place that the stars make public appearances.

The portraits that Randy has been able to get signed are not for sale. He paints them for his own pleasure and he has them signed for his hobby, and that, he has found is it's own reward.

Randy is continuing to develop the Star Painter Show.
